Dear Diane,

I have just finished reading "Conquering Incest: My Life As A Trauma Survivor", and I thought that I would send you a note to congratulate you on your achievement. Not that many who have survived the sort of trauma you have lived through manage to write a book about their road to a recovered self and few write as well as you. Sadly, extreme as your story is, it is one of many such stories that exist. For the past 15 years I have directed the Trauma and Dissociation Unit at Belmont Hospital in Brisbane, Australia and I was the first author of the first series of patients (N=62) fulfilling diagnostic criteria for Dissociative Identity Disorder to be reported in the Australian scientific literature. Currently I have been researching that particular group of incest victims where the incestuous abuse has extended into adulthood and have closely examined both the international press reporting of such cases as well as examining in detail the characteristics of such scenarios and how individual victims of such profound abuse are shamed, terrorised and conditioned by their abusers (with the grouping almost always extending beyond the father).
I note your recent involvement in a Congressional briefing in Washington. A few weeks ago I was involved in something somewhat similar by way of a bi-partisan parliamentary briefing in Canberra organised under the auspices of Adults Surviving Child Abuse (ASCA) and Parliamentarians Against Child Abuse and Neglect (PACAN).

With warm congratulations,

I am a survivor of incest, as well. I have been in and out of counseling for as long as I can remember. I keep telling myself that it all happened for a reason. I don't know what reason yet, but it helps make me feel better to tell myself that. But I can't help but believe in my heart, that I am meant to tell my story, write it, or something. I have just not had the opportunity yet. However I do paint, nothing brilliant or anything, but I so enjoy it.
I am so proud of you and your accomplishment. Any encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

Tough read. Very difficult subject. Author is absolutely blunt about her life as a trauma survivor. Not for the weak hearted. An on going tragedy in America for millions.

Hi. I see that you don't update your site too often.
I know that writing posts is time consuming and boring.
But did you know that there is a tool that
allows you to create new articles using existing content (from
article directories or other websites from your niche)?
And it does it very well. The new articles are high quality and pass the
copyscape test. Search in google and try: miftolo's tools
